by admin477351

Oman and the United States are looking to enhance their economic and investment partnership, with discussions focusing on boosting trade, supporting Omani exports, and increasing American investment. Oman’s Minister of Economy, Dr. Khamis Saif Al Jabri, recently held talks with representatives from the Oman Trade Office in the United States during their visit to Oman. The meeting highlighted the office’s past achievements and future strategies, as well as the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead in expanding economic ties between the two nations.

Central to these discussions was the aim to improve access for Omani products in the US market and to attract more American investments into Oman. Both countries are keen on identifying new areas for trade cooperation, which could pave the way for increased economic interaction.

Bilateral trade between Oman and the United States has already reached approximately OMR 555.26 million by the end of July 2026. This trade relationship is characterized by major Omani exports to the US, such as chemicals and aluminium, while the US exports vehicles and transport equipment to Oman.

The dialogue signifies a mutual interest in deepening economic ties, which could potentially lead to increased trade and investment activities between Oman and the United States. Such efforts are part of a broader strategy to leverage economic opportunities and foster sustainable economic growth for both nations.
