Shenzhen Topway New Energy has unveiled significant advancements in its racing drone battery technology, emphasizing enhanced power delivery, lightweight design, and improved durability for both competitive and industrial drone applications. A key development includes a high-discharge lithium cell formulation that reduces internal resistance and boosts ion transport. The company reports that its 1300mAh 6S battery pack can sustain continuous discharge currents beyond 130A, ensuring stable power output under demanding flight conditions while minimizing voltage drop.
Topway has also introduced a low-resistance electrode manufacturing process aimed at enhancing conductivity and reducing heat generation. This advancement is expected to improve flight efficiency, prolong battery life, and maintain consistent performance during extended high-load operations, such as drone racing and aerial filming. The battery’s structural design incorporates ultra-thin aluminum-laminated packaging and reinforced elements to enhance impact resistance without adding unnecessary weight, thereby improving the power-to-weight ratio and augmenting durability during outdoor use.
An integrated battery management system further supports these innovations by providing active cell balancing and protection against overcharging, over-discharging, short circuits, and other electrical faults. The system is also designed to facilitate fast charging while extending the overall battery lifespan. According to Topway, their battery packs retain over 80% of their original capacity after more than 300 charge cycles and can operate in ambient temperatures reaching up to 60°C. A typical 14.8V 1300mAh lithium polymer battery in their lineup weighs less than 175 grams and is capable of supporting burst discharge currents exceeding 200A for short durations.
Topway underscores that its products adhere to multiple international standards, including UL, CE, RoHS, IEC62133, and IEC62619, with manufacturing processes certified under ISO 9001:2015. This commitment to compliance and quality assurance reflects the company’s dedication to delivering reliable and efficient energy solutions for the growing demands of the drone industry.
